Der
Wecker ging kurz vor 7 Uhr, ich schnappte mir ein Fat Bike und machte damit
eine Sonnenaufgangsfahrt ums Hotelgelände des Al Badayer Retreat (https://sharjahcollection.ae/al-badayer-retreat)... Ich war todmüde, denn ich
hatte fast nichts geschlafen letzte Nacht: Zuerst wegen des Lärmes all der
Wüstenabenteurer bis tief in die Nacht (weshalb nur lieben manche Leute den
Motorenlärm so sehr??) und dann wegen des nicht endenden Streites meiner
Zimmernachbarn... lauthals stritten sie sich vor und im Zimmer! Als ich nach
draussen ging und sie bat leiser zu streiten oder besser gar nicht, ignorierten
sie mich und machten einfach weiter! : ( Ich hatte meine JBL Boxe dabei,
stellte sie an die Wand des Nachbarzimmers und drehte die Lautstärke meiner
Musik auf, bis meine Nachbarn verstummten... leider nur für einige Minuten,
dann wiederholte sich das ganze Szenarium bis die beiden beim Streiten
einschliefen... und ich endlich auch...
My alarm clock went off just before 7 am, I grabbed a fat bike and took a sunrise ride around the hotel premises of the Al Badayer Retreat (https://sharjahcollection.ae/al-badayer-retreat)... I was dead tired because I hadn’t almost slept at all last night: First because of the noise from all the desert adventurers until late into the night (why do some people love the noise of engines so much??) and then because of the never-ending arguments from my roommates... they argued loudly in front of and in the room! When I went outside and asked them to argue more quietly or not at all, they ignored me and just carried on! : ( I had my JBL speaker with me, put it on the wall of the neighbouring room and turned up the volume of my music until my neighbours fell silent... unfortunately only for a few minutes, then the whole scenario repeated itself until the two fell asleep while arguing. .. and me finally too...

Als ich von
meiner Sonnenaufgangstour zurück ins Zimmer kam, war ich zwar nicht hellwach,
aber auch nicht so müde um nochmals ins Bett zu schlüpfen... stattdessen
absolvierte ich meine Morgenmeditation mit hoher Lautstärke und sang laut dazu!
Normalerweise nehme ich Rücksicht auf andere, sehr wahrscheinlich zu viel!?
Aber heute mussten meine Nachbarn fühlen um zu lernen, weil Worte nichts nutzten!
Nach einer halben Stunde erhielt ich einen Anruf der Reception: Meine Nachbarn
hätten sich über zu laute Musik beschwert, ob ich bitte etwas leiser stellen
könnte? - Ich sagte: Nein und erklärte, was die ganze Nacht vor sich gegangen
war und dass meine Nachbarn es auf die harte Tour lernen mussten... Eine
weitere halbe Stunde später stand ein Angestellter vor der Tür mit derselben
Bitte, welche ich mit derselben Begründung abwies - zudem war es bereits fast
10 Uhr und weshalb haben meine Nachbarn nicht den Mut mich selbst darum zu
bitten?!
When I came back to the room from my sunrise tour, I wasn't wide awake, real tired enough neither to go back to bed... instead I did my morning meditation at high volume and sang along loudly! Normally I'm considerate of others, probably too much!? But today my neighbours had to feel to learn a lesson, because my words were of no use! After half an hour I received a call from reception: My neighbours had complained about the loud music, if I could please turn it down a bit? - I said no and explained what had been going on all night and that my neighbours had to learn their lesson the hard way... Another half hour later an employee showed up at my door with the same request which I rejected with the same reason and explanation – besides, it was already almost 10 o'clock and why didn't my neighbours have the courage to ask me themselves?!

Dann
wurden meine Nachbarn von mir erlöst, denn ich ging nochmals ausgiebig
frühstücken... packte danach meine Sachen zusammen und um 12 Uhr war es Zeit
120 km Richtung Osten weiterzuziehen... Eine Viertelstunde später erreichte ich
das Geisterdorf in der Wüste von Sharjah: Wurde das Dorf verlassen weil der Sand
es übernahm oder übernahm der Sand das Dorf weil es verlassen wurde?
Then my neighbours finally got relieved of me because I went for another hearty breakfast... thereafter I packed up my things and at noon it was time to move 120 km direction east... A quarter of an hour later I reached the ghost village in the desert of Sharjah: Was the village abandoned because the sand took over it or did the sand take over the village because it was abandoned?

Ich fuhr
Richtung Hatta auf der Strasse in die Berge, die ich bereits kannte, und bog diesmal
ins Wadi Qor ab. Dieser Abschnitt des Emirates Dubai führt durch die Berge alles
der eingezäumten Omanischen Grenze entlang…
I drove towards Hatta on the road into the mountains, which I already knew, but this time I turned into Wadi Qor. This section of the Emirate of Dubai leads through the mountains along the fenced Omani border…

Um 15 Uhr
erreichte ich das Wahla Fort, wo ich eine Entdeckungspause einlegte… Eine halbe
Stunde später erreichte ich die wunderschöne Stadt Kalba im Emirat Sharjah: Ich
fuhr der Corniche entlang mit Blick auf die märchenhaft gestaltete Universität
und den Mangroven.
At 3 pm I reached Wahla Fort, where I took a break to explore it... Half an hour later I reached the beautiful city of Kalba in the Emirate of Sharjah: I drove along the Corniche with a view of the fairytale university and the mangroves.

Nach einer
halben Stunde Weiterfahrt der Ostküste entlang sichtete ich schon meine
Destination: Das Al Bahar Hotel & Resort (https://www.albaharhotelandresort.com) in der Stadt und Emirat Fujairah. Für einmal hatte ich meinen
Aufenthalt gebucht, weil Ethel von der Reservation sofort auf mein e-mail antwortete
und einen guten Preis mit Upgrade machte! Ich wurde super sympathisch von Bakri
und Esaam empfangen, durchs Hotel und in mein Zimmer geführt! : ) Wow – ein riesiges
Zimmer mit fantastischer Aussicht erwartete mich, wo ich mich gleich
einrichtete für die kommenden 5 Nächte… Hunger und Lust auf Pizza trieb mich ins
Diwan Restaurant, eines der 4 Hotelrestaurants, wo mir draussen neben der
Marina ein Tisch aufgedeckt wurde und ich meine Pizza verschlang! Selig und
todmüde begab ich mich in mein herrliches Bett… : )

After half an hour of driving along the east coast, I already saw my
destination: The Al Bahar Hotel & Resort (https://www.albaharhotelandresort.com) in the town and Emirate Fujairah. For
once I had booked my stay, because Ethel from the reservation department
responded immediately to my email and offered a good price with an upgrade! I
was welcomed super congenially by Bakri and Esaam, shown through the hotel and
to my room! : ) Wow - a huge room with a fantastic view awaited me, where I settled
in for the next 5 nights... Hunger and a desire for pizza drove me to the Diwan
Restaurant, one of the 4 hotel restaurants, where a table was set for me
outside next to the marina and I devoured my pizza! Blissful and dead tired I
went to my wonderful bed... : )
