Mein
erstes Ziel war Najd al Maqsar, ein 4000 Jahre altes
verlassenes Bergdorf. Der Zugang war jedoch wegen Renovationsarbeiten geschlossen –
trotzdem hübsch! Nur 500 m weiter landeinwärts befindet sich der Al Rafisah Damm, eine
wunderschöne Oase zum Verweilen - ich wollte aber weiter!
My first destination was Najd al Maqsar, a 4000-year-old abandoned mountain village. The entrance was closed due to renovation work - but it still is pretty! Just 500 metres further inland the Al Rafisah Dam is situated, a beautiful oasis to linger - but I wanted to continue!

Ich fuhr durch Khorfakkan mit seinen prächtigen Gebäuden,
einem Strand und einem künstlichem Wasserfall weiter zur nächsten
Sehenswürdigkeit: Die Al Bidya Mosque, eine Moschee
aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, die immer noch in benutzt wird.
I drove on through Khorfakkan with its magnificent buildings, a beach and an artificial waterfall to the next attraction: Al Bidya Mosque, a 15th century mosque that is still in use.

Danach ging es fast eine Stunde durch mehr oder weniger Wüstenlandschaft
bis nach Dibba. Dieses Städtchen ist in 2 Teile geteilt: das
omanische Dibba und das der Vereintigten Arabischen Emirate… Ich verweilte im
einladenden wunderhübschen Teil von Fujairah VAE und spazierte eine halbe Stunde
der Corniche entlang und wieder zurück. Auf dem Rückweg setzte
ich mich ins Luz Café und genoss einen Cappuccino zum Sonnenuntergang in
den Bergen. : )
Thereafter I drove for almost an hour through more or less desert landscape to Dibba. This small town is divided into two parts: the Omani Dibba and the one of the United Arab Emirates... I stayed in the invitingly beautiful part of Fujairah UAE and walked along the Corniche for half an hour and then back again. On the way back, I enjoyed a cappuccino at Luz Café with the sun setting over the mountains. : )

Bevor ich meine Fahrt von etwas mehr als eine Stunde auf der Trucks Road 89 durchs
Landesinnere unter die Räder zurück zur Stadt Fujairah nahm, liess ich in einem
der vielen Schneidergeschäften in Dibba einen Schlafsack nähen…

one of the many tailor shops in Dibba...
