Ich habe
geschlafen wie eine Prinzessin in meinem königlichen Zimmer des Al Bahar Hotel
& Resort (https://www.albaharhotelandresort.com) – und das
ohne irgendwelchen Lärm oder Störung, das entfernte Rauschen des Meeres ist
alles was zu hören ist, wenn die Balkontüre offen ist. Nach meinem morgendlichen
Yoga, Meditation und etwas Arbeit machte ich mich so spät wie möglich zum
Frühstücksbuffet und bediente mich herzhaft. Schliesslich esse ich nur zweimal
pro Tag mit viel Obst vor allem am Morgen und auch zwischendurch. Zum Verdauen
legte ich mich auf eine Liege und genoss den Strand und das Meer des Golfs von
Oman, das ich deutlich wärmer empfand als das Wasser des Arabische Golfs in
Dubai…
I slept like a princess in my royal room at Al Bahar Hotel & Resort (https://www.albaharhotelandresort.com) - without any noise or disturbance, the distant sound of the sea is all that can be heard when the balcony door is open. After my morning yoga, meditation and some work, I went for breakfast as late as possible and helped myself to a hearty meal on buffet. After all, I only eat twice a day with lots of fruit, especially in the morning and in between. To digest I relaxed on a lounger and enjoyed the beach and the sea of the Gulf of Oman, which I found significantly warmer than the water of the Arabian Gulf in Dubai...

Am Montag Nachmittag ging ich auf einen Entdeckungsspaziergang
durch die Stadt Fujairah: Einen ¾ Stunden Marsch brachte mich zur Fujairah
Festung, die ich kurz vor Sonnenuntergang erreichte und bekletterte. Danach wanderte
ich eine halbe Stunde zur wunderschönen Sheikh Zayed Moschee, dessen Anblick
alle 5 Minuten änderte, je nach Licht und Beleuchtung… Von dort ging es
nochmals eine ¾ Stunde zurück zum Al Bahar Hotel.
On Monday afternoon I went on a discovery walk through the city of Fujairah: A ¾ hour walk brought me to the Fujairah Fort, which I reached and climbed shortly before sunset. Thereafter I walked for half an hour to the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the view of which changed every 5 minutes, depending on the light and lighting... From there it was another ¾ hour walk back to the Al Bahar Hotel.

Dienstag
Morgen ging ich meine Umgebung joggend entdecken, und zwar Richtung Süden,
woher ich am Sonntag gekommen war. Ich begegnete vielen Fischern und einem
langen Strand, wo ich schwimmen konnte!
Tuesday morning I went exploring my surroundings by a run, heading south, where I had come from on Sunday. I encountered lots of fishermen and a long beach where I could swim!

Am
späteren Nachmittag fuhr ich los, ca. eine halbe Stunde zum Al Bithnah Fort, wo
mich der nette Naseer rührend durch die Festung führte und alles erklärte, was
er wusste! : )
Vom Al
Bithnah Fort war es eine halbe Stunde Fahrt zum Al Hayl Schlösschen, das ich
genau zum Sonnenuntergang erreichte. Dort wartete der fröhliche Abdul Ali auf
Besucher, die eher selten sind. Aber wenn dann schon jemand kommt, legt er sich
richtig ins Zeug und weiss neben geschichtlichen Fakten einige Geschichten über
Sheikh Abdullah und seine Familie zu erzählen, der hier ab 1932 40 Jahre lebte
und regierte bevor die Familie in die moderne Welt zog…
In the late afternoon I drove off, about half an hour to Al Bithnah Fort, where nice Naseer touchingly showed me around the fort and explained everything he knew! : )
From Al Bithnah Fort it was a half hour drive to Al Hayl Castle, which I reached exactly at sunset. There, cheerful Abdul Ali was waiting for visitors, who are rare. But when someone comes, he really gets into it and in addition to historical facts, he knows some stories to tell about Sheikh Abdullah and his family, who lived and ruled here for 40 years from 1932 before the family moved into the modern world...

Die
Abende genoss ich im heissen Jacuzzi und dem kleinen
aber feinen SPA mit Hammam, Dampfbad und Sauna… frische Süsskartoffelchips vom
Sliders und ich war bereit für einen tiefen guten Schlaf! Am Dienstag Abend lud
mich Bakri zum Essen ein, das wir im benachbarten Emirates Sea
Restaurant (https://www.emiratessea.ae) einnahmen – mit anregenden
Gesprächen und vieeel Humor! : ))

I enjoyed the evenings in the hot jacuzzi and the small but excellent
SPA with hammam, steam bath and sauna... some fresh sweet potato chips from
Sliders and I was ready for a deep, good night's sleep! On Tuesday evening
Bakri invited me for dinner, which we enjoyed at the neighbouring Emirates Sea
Restaurant (https://www.emiratessea.ae) - with
stimulating conversations and looots of humour! : ))
