Am
Mittwoch fuhr ich mit Manoj Richtung Bur, der Altstadt von Dubai. Unterwegs
holten wir seinen langjährigen guten Freund Anantha und dessen Arbeitskollegen
Rajesh ab - beide aus Indien und geschäftlich 10 Tage in Dubai. Leider mussten
die beiden fast eine Stunde auf uns warten, da wir zur ungünstigsten Zeit von
Discovery Gardens wegfuhren: Alle bis zu 8-spurigen Strassen Richtung Norden
waren voller Abendverkehr... und als ich eine Abkürzung nehmen wollte, erwies
sie sich als Umweg! : (
Wednesday I drove with Manoj to Bur, the old town of Dubai. On the way we picked up his long-time good friend Anantha and his work colleague Rajesh - both from India and in Dubai for 10 days on business. Unfortunately, they had to wait almost an hour for us because we were leaving Discovery Gardens at the worst possible time: All up to 8-lanes roads heading north were jammed of evening traffic... and when I wanted to take a shortcut, it turned out to be a detour! : (

später mit 2 Passagieren mehr an Bord erreichten wir dann endlich Al Shindagha.
Auch dort mussten wir uns etwas gedulden, bis einer der vielen begehrten
Parkplätze frei wurde... Dann schlenderten wir dem Dubai Creek entlang, durch
die Souks und nahmen den Abra (Kadabra) zur andern Seite des Creeks. Es war
bereits spät, so genossen wir zuerst ein leckeres Abendessen im Aden Restaurant
(https://aden-restaurant.com). Bis
wir dann im Gewürz- und Goldsouk ankamen, begannen die Geschäfte bereits zu
schliessen... Trotzdem hatten wir viel
Spass und Anantha und Rajesh würden noch einige Tage hier haben um das Ganze
etwas früher und mit der Metro abzuklappern...
2 hours later with 2 more passengers on board we finally reached Al Shindagha. There too we had to be patient until one of the many coveted parking spaces became available... Then we strolled along Dubai Creek, through the souks and took the Abra (Kadabra) to the other side of the creek. It was already late, so we first enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Aden Restaurant (https://aden-restaurant.com). By the time we got to the spice and gold souk, the shops were already starting to close... Nevertheless, we had a lot of fun and Anantha and Rajesh would still have a few days here to come back at an earlier hour and by metro...

Menschen sind so freundlich hier, es scheint als wären alle netten Leute in die
Emirate ausgewandert!? - Es ist einfach
hier Freunde zu gewinnen, ein Lächeln aussenden reicht! So auch auf meiner
Heimrennstrecke auf dem Jumeirah Beach: Da ich jeweils bekleidet vom Parkplatz
durch die Marina spaziere, habe ich eine grosse Tasche dabei um meine Kleider
und Schuhe darin zu verstauen wenn ich dann barfuss und im Bikini joggen gehe.
Von Anfang an hatte ich netten Kontakt mit den Angestellten von Water Adventure
Dubai (https://www.wateradventure.ae),
die mich fragten, ob ich meine Tasche bei ihnen deponieren möchte! : )
Everyone is so friendly here; it seems like all the nice people have emigrated to the Emirates!? - It's easy to make friends here, sending out a smile is just enough! This is also the case on my home-race-track on Jumeirah Beach: Since I walk from the parking lot through the marina fully clothed, I have a large bag with me to store my clothes and shoes in while I go for a run barefoot and in my bikini. Right from the start I had a kind contact with the staff at Water Adventure Dubai (https://www.wateradventure.ae), who asked me to leave my bag with them! : )

und werde involviert, als gehöre ich dazu! : ) - Ja, hier ist meine Angst vor
Menschen total abhandengekommen, im Gegenteil: Ich freue mich auf bekannte wie
neue Gesichter!
