Heute wollte ich das Städtchen Hatta erkunden sowie
mit dem Kajak eine Runde auf dem Stausee drehen… Aber zuerst genoss ich mein wunderschönes
Zimmer des ebensolchen Hotels JA Hatta Fort Hotel (https://www.jaresortshotels.com/dubai/ja-hatta-fort-hotel) mit meinem üblichen Morgenritual: Meditation und Morgenyoga an der milden
Morgensonne mit viel Tee und Obst, Arabisch mit Duolingo und einem ausgiebigen
Frühstück…
Today I wanted to explore the town of Hatta and take a round on the reservoir by kayak... But first I enjoyed my wonderful room at the equal JA Hatta Fort Hotel (https://www.jaresortshotels.com/dubai/ja-hatta-fort-hotel) with my usual morning ritual: meditation and morning yoga in the mild morning sun with lots of tea and fruit, Arabic with Duolingo and a hearty breakfast…

Am frühen Nachmittag machte ich mich auf zum Hatta
Heritage Village. Dieses rekonstruierte Bergdorf ist noch stets in Bau und das
meiste war geschlossen… auch gut - so hatte ich mehr Zeit und konnte den Ort
gemütlich durchschlendern. Ich verweilte im interessanten Falaj System: Ein
Netzwerk von Unterwasserkanälen, das Wasser von einer Quelle zu den Häusern und
Feldern leitet. Dieses über 1000 Jahre alte Bewässerungssystem der Vereinigten
Arabischen Emiraten funktioniert nur mit Schwerkraft – ohne mechanische Hilfe!

In the early afternoon I headed to Hatta Heritage Village. This reconstructed mountain village is still under construction and most of it was closed... good thing too – like this I had more time to stroll through the place in a slower pace. I lingered in the interesting Falaj system: A network of underwater canals which carries water from a spring to houses and fields. This 1,000-year-old irrigation system in the United Arab Emirates works solely by gravity – without any mechanical help! : )

Unterwegs zum Hatta Damm bestieg ich zuerst den
Wachturm neben dem Heritage Village und dann den Hügel zum Aussichtspunkt des
Hill Parks – beides mit herrlicher Rundsicht auf das Hajar Gebirge.
On the way to Hatta Dam, I first climbed the watchtower next to the Heritage Village and then up the hill to the viewpoint of Hill Park - both with a fantastic panoramic view of the Hajar Mountains.

Um 16 Uhr war ich bereit für ein Kajak auf dem
Stausee von Hatta Kajak (https://hattakayak.com) und paddelte 1 1/2 Stunden auf dem ca. 1 km langen See. Genial und
sooo friedlich! : )
At 4 pm I was ready for a kayak on the lake from Hatta Kayak (https://hattakayak.com) and paddled for 1 1/2 hours on the approximately 1 km long lake. Awesome and sooo peaceful! : )

Nach so vielen Aktivitäten meldete sich der Hunger
und ich kehrte im Janam Restaurant (https://janamrestaurant.net) beim grossen Verkehrskreisel
ein. Leider war das Restaurant zu sehr heruntergekühlt, so dass ich es mir zweimal
überlegte… aber die nette Zaynyb gab mir ihre Jacke und es ging gar nicht so
lang, bis ich ein leckeres Abendessen auf dem Tisch hatte. : ) Meinen wundervollen Tag rundete ich ab mit einem Capuccino im benachbarten Wow Cup Café (https://www.facebook.com/wowcup.cafehatta.7).

After so much activity, I felt hungry and went to the Janam Restaurant (https://janamrestaurant.net) at the
big roundabout. Unfortunately the restaurant was cooled down too much, I rethought
my plan twice... but nice Zaynyb gave me her jacket and it didn't take long
until I had a delicious dinner on the table. : ) I rounded my great day off
with a cappuccino at the neighbouring Wow Cup Café (https://www.facebook.com/wowcup.cafehatta.7).
