Heute war
ich Chauffeur, Manoj Reiseführer und Anantha unser besonderer Gast bevor er
nach Indien zurückreisen würde. ; ) Manoj, der seine Anfangszeit hier in den
Emiraten in Abu Dhabi verbracht hatte, stellte uns ein tolles
abwechslungsreiches Programm zusammen:
Today I was the driver, Manoj was the tour guide and Anantha our special guest before he would travel back to India. ; ) Manoj, who spent his first months here in the Emirates in Abu Dhabi, put together a great, varied programme for us:

Der erste
Besuch galt einem Aquarium... wir erreichten nach 1 Stunde und 110 km das
Seaworld (https://www.seaworldabudhabi.com)
etwas ausserhalb von Abu Dhabi, wir entschieden jedoch weiterzufahren, da es
für unseren Geschmack viel zu gross und zu teuer war. Eine halbe Stunde später
erreichten wir Al Qana, ein modernes Quartier mit vielen Unterhaltungmöglichkeiten
unweit der Stadt Abu Dhabi. Der Hunger trieb uns dem Rabdan Kanal entlang zum
Grandiose Café (https://www.facebook.com/GrandioseUAE),
wo wir kleine Köstlichkeiten als Vorspeise und eine leckere echte Pizza
genossen.
The first visit was to an aquarium... after 1 hour and 110 km we reached Seaworld (https://www.seaworldabudhabi.com) just outside Abu Dhabi, but we decided to continue because it was far too big and expensive for our taste. Half an hour later we reached Al Qana, a modern district with many entertainment options not far from the city of Abu Dhabi. Hunger drove us along the Rabdan Canal to the Grandiose Café (https://www.facebook.com/GrandioseUAE), where we enjoyed small delicacies as starters and a delicious real pizza.

Gestärkt
schlenderten wir zum National Aquarium (https://thenationalaquarium.ae), wo
wir 1 1/2 Stunden nicht zum Staunen herauskamen... Auf genialer Weise kommt man
der Unterwasserwelt näher und plötzlich befindet man sich im Urwald… wo ein
herumfliegender Tukan mir sogar auf den Schuh schiss! Das National Aquarium ist
für mich ein absolutes Muss in Abu Dhabi! : )
Strengthened, we strolled to the National Aquarium (https://thenationalaquarium.ae), where we couldn't stop marvelling for 1 1/2 hours... In an ingenious way you get closer to the underwater world and suddenly you find yourself in the jungle... where a flying around toucan shit on my shoe! For me, the National Aquarium is an absolute must in Abu Dhabi! : )

Pünktlich
zum Sonnenuntergang standen wir vor der Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Das
komplizierte Eintrittsprozedere und der lange Weg dorthin hätte es uns fast
vermasseltet... aber wir schafften es die letzten Sonnenstrahlen zu sehen und
dann die atemberaubende Moschee mit dem sich wechselnden Licht zu erleben -
einfach nur überwältigend! Unter den Hunderten von Besuchern trafen wir Elke,
die auf der Durchreise nach Bali war... wir schlossen sie gleich in unser Herz
und nahmen sie kurzentschlossen mit uns ins Zentrum von Abu Dhabi...
We stood in front of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque just in time for sunset. The complicated entry procedure and the long way to get there almost ruined it for us... but we managed to see the last rays of sunshine and then experience the breathtaking mosque with the changing light - just overwhelming! Among the hundreds of visitors we met Elke, who was on her way to Bali... we immediately took her into our hearts and she spontaneously joined us to the centre of Abu Dhabi...

Manoj führte uns ins Bait el Khetyar (https://www.facebook.com/bait.elkhetyar), wo wir bei regem Austausch ein köstliches arabisches Abendessen verzehrten. Zum Verdauungsspaziergang führte Manoj uns zur Corniche mit umwerfendem Abschiedsfinale der künstlichen Lichter sowie die des Mondes... Dann hiess es Abschiednehmen von unserer neuen Freundin Elke, die wir in ihr Hotel fuhren, und Antritt unserer Rückfahrt zu nehmen von 1 1/2 Stunden und 120 km zurück nach Discovery Gardens Dubai.
Danke Manoj für deine tolle Organisation und Zeit für uns, obwohl deine Gedanken immer wieder zu Santana abschweiften... ; ) Und vielen Dank Manoj und Anantha, die alle Ausgaben für diesen fantastischen Ausflug übernahmen! : )

Manoj took us to Bait el Khetyar (https://www.facebook.com/bait.elkhetyar), where we enjoyed a delicious Arabic dinner with lively communications. For a digestive walk, Manoj led us to the Corniche with a stunning farewell finale of the artificial lights as well as the ones of the moon... Then it was time to say goodbye to our new friend Elke, who we drove to her hotel, and to start our return journey of 1 1/2 hours 120 km back to Discovery Gardens Dubai.
Thank you Manoj for your great organization and time for us, even though your thoughts kept wandering off to Santana... ; ) And thanks to Manoj and Anantha for covering all expenses for this amazing trip! : )
