Am
Freitag Morgen um 2 Uhr fuhr Praveen uns zum Flughafen… er würde für 2 Monate
nachhause nach Chennai, Indien, fliegen um Zeit mit seinen Liebsten zu
verbringen. Ich hatte etwas geschlafen und Praveen weckte mich aus meinem
Tiefschlaf – keine Ahnung wo ich war, sehr wahrscheinlich in meiner
Vergangenheit, denn ich wachte völlig fehl am Platz auf…
On Friday morning at 2 am Praveen drove us to the airport...he was flying home to Chennai, India, for 2 months to spend time with his loved ones. I had slept a bit and Praveen woke me up from my deep sleep - no idea where I was, most likely in my past, because I woke up completely out of place...

bye bye Praveen my friend, Dubai Airport

Ich war
froh, fuhr Praveen, aber nervte mich übers Navisystem Waze, das uns um ganz
Dubai führen wollte, und Praveen folgte ihm! Glücklicherweise hatte er geplant
3 Stunden vor seinem Flug um 5:30 Uhr am Flughafen zu sein… Ich konnte es nicht
glauben, dass er einer Technik mehr vertraute als auf seinen Menschenverstand… wie
so viele Menschen! Dabei ist es doch am wichtigsten, dass man sich orientiert
und weiss, welche Route man fahren muss!? Zudem ist der Flughafen
ausgeschildert. – Ja, ich war dünnhäutig und sass im Negativen fest, bis
Praveen mir freundlich sagte, dass er mich so gar nicht kannte… und mir bewusst
machte, wie ich wirkte! Ich bedankte mich bei ihm ein echter Freund zu sein und
erkannte wieder einmal mehr, dass es nichts Negatives gibt, wenn man es ins
Positive drehen kann, das heiss: Keine Entschuldigungen sucht, sondern etwas
daraus lernt! : )
I was glad that Praveen was driving, but I was annoyed by the Waze navigation system, which wanted to take us all around Dubai, and Praveen followed it! Luckily he had planned to be at the airport 3 hours before his 5:30 am flight... I couldn't believe he trusted technology more than his common sense... like so many people! Yet the most important thing is that we orientate ourselves and know which route to drive!? In addition, the airport is signposted. - Yes, I was thin-skinned and stuck in the negative until Praveen kindly told me that he didn't know me this way... and made me aware of how I appeared! I thanked him for being a real friend and realized once again, that there is nothing negative if you can turn it into something positive, that is: Don't look for excuses, but learn something from it! : )

Am
Samstag traf ich mich mit Manoj, ein neuer Freund und dann noch in der Nähe -
Praveen hatte uns aus diesem Grund bekannt gemacht! : ) Wir fuhren nach Palm
Jameirah, wo Manoj auch noch nie war. Er wohnt zwar schon 5 Jahre in Dubai,
arbeitet aber mehr als voll und hat noch kein Auto. So kam er mit mir auf
Entdeckungsreise – und so offen wie ich! : ) Auf der Meerseite hat es viele
gratis Parkplätze und wir parkierten vor dem Atlantis The Royal. Von dort waren
es ein 45-minutiger Spaziergang zum ‘alten’ Atlantis auf einer herrlichen Strandpromenade
und wieder zurück.
On Saturday I met Manoj, a new friend in the neighbourhood - Praveen had introduced us for this reason! : ) We drove to Palm Jameirah, where Manoj had not been yet either. He lives in Dubai since 5 years but works more than full time and doesn't have a car yet. Thus he came with me on a journey of discovery - and as open as I was! : ) There is plenty of free parking on the sea side and we parked in front of Atlantis The Royal. From there it was a 45-minute walk to the 'old' Atlantis on a nice boardwalk and back.

Auf der Rückfahrt
stoppten wir im Nakheel Mall, im Herzen der Palme, denn dort gibt es einen
Dekathlon (https://decathlon.ae), wo ich
ein Zelt kaufen wollte. Ich hatte zwar schon eines in meinem Auto in Irland, wollte
aber ein kleineres, das Praveen nach meiner Abreise für seine Tochter Tanya als
Schattenspender am Strand benutzen konnte. Der freundliche Murad scheute keine
Mühe mir zu zeigen, wie einfach das Zelt aufzustellen und wieder zurück in die
Tragtasche zu verstauen war – viel einfacher als mein 2-sekunden Zelt derselben
Marke Quechua! : )
On our drive back home we stopped at Nakheel Mall, in the heart of the Palm, because there is a Decathlon (https://decathlon.ae), where I wanted to buy a tent. I already had one in my car in Ireland, but wanted a smaller one, which Praveen could use for shade on the beach for his daughter Tanya after I leave. Friendly Murad grudged no pains to show me how easy the tent was to set up and put back in the bag - much easier than my 2-seconds tent from the same brand Quechua! : )

Nun hatte
ich ein Zelt aber noch keine wirkliche Lust zum Campieren: Meine Allergie im
Gesicht und an den Händen war unerträglich geworden… ich erkannte mich kaum
noch im Spiegel und das Jucken bereitete mir schlaflose Nächte! Es war höchste
Zeit für Hilfe… und ich versuchte mein Glück im Quartier bei Ayur Sathya
Ayurveda (https://ayursathya.com/ayursathya-discovery-gardens-karama)...
Dr. Latika war zwar nicht anwesend, aber die nette Aaliya beschrieb mich ihr telefonisch
und ich erhielt folgende Medikamente: 2 Salben (die ich vor Gebrauch mixe), 1
Tablette für diese Nacht sowie 2 verschiedene Tabletten und einen Sirup für die
kommenden 10 Tage – alles völlig natürlich auf Pflanzenbasis ohne Chemie. - Mal
sehen, ob mir die Ayurvedische Medizin helfen kann?

Now I had a tent but didn't really feel like camping: My allergy on face
and hands had become unbearable... I could barely recognize myself in the
mirror and the itching was causing me sleepless nights! It was high time I got

Dr. Latika was not in, but kind Aaliya described me to her over the phone and I
received the following medication: 2 ointments (which I mix before use), 1
tablet for that night as well as 2 different tablets and a syrup for the next
10 days - everything completely natural and plant-based without chemicals. -
Let's see if Ayurvedic medicine can help me?
