Mit dem Sonnenaufgang erwachte ich und hatte
genügend Zeit mich meinem Morgenprogramm zu widmen. Zudem hatte ich meinen
Gaskocher dabei, damit ich morgens meinen heissgeliebten Espresso und viel Tee
zubereiten konnte bis Mamoon des Masirah Beach Camp (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Masirah-Beach-Camp/327514024363333) aus den
Federn war. Während Ramadan machen die Muslims die Nacht zum Tage und schlafen
tagsüber… aber ich war ja schon froh, dass trotzdem ein Frühstück angeboten
wurde! : )
I woke up with the sunrise and had enough time to devote myself to my morning routine. I also had my gas cooker with me so that I could prepare my beloved espresso and lots of tea in the morning until Mamoon of Masirah Beach Camp (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Masirah-Beach-Camp/327514024363333) was out of bed. During Ramadan, Muslims turn night into day and sleep during the day... but I was happy that they offered breakfast! : )

Am Montag Mittag fuhr ich los um die Südhälfte der fast
100 km langen Masirah Insel zu erkunden: kein Mensch weit und breit - nur
verlassene Fischerhütten und Boote sowie Gebirge, viel Wüste und wunderschöne
einsame Strände.
On Monday afternoon I set off to explore the southern half of the almost 100 km long Masirah Island: no one anywhere - just abandoned fishing huts and boats as well as mountains, lots of desert and beautiful, lonely beaches.

Der Strand des Wadi Nukhayla in Urf lockte
schon von weitem und ich parkte mein Auto am Strassenrand. Das herrliche klare
Meer lud zum Schwimmen ein, ich
trocknete auf einem grossen Stein und begab mich danach auf einen langen Spaziergang der
Bucht entlang… und schon waren 2 ½ Stunden im Nu verstrichen…
The beach of Wadi Nukhayla in Urf was tempting from afar and I parked my car on the side of the road. The wonderfully clear sea invited me for a swim, I dried off on a large stone and then went for a long walk along the bay... and 2 ½ hours had passed in no time...

Am Dienstag vor dem Frühstück machte ich mich auf meine
Umgebung joggend zu erforschen… Dibuh die Windhündin begleitete mich und
wartete geduldig auf mich als ich meine Dehnübungen machte! : )
On Tuesday before breakfast I set out to investigate my surroundings by going for a run... Dibuh the greyhound accompanied me and waited patiently for me as I did my stretching exercises! : )

Als ich alle Dokumente für meine Bank ausgefüllt
und unterschrieben hatte, machte ich mich auf nach Masirah Town. Dort
klapperte ich zuerst alle Banken ab um eine Beglaubigung meines Passes machen
zu lassen, da es nicht möglich war im Schweizer Konsulat in Muskat und meine Bank
die der Immigrationspolizei ROP Salalah nicht akzeptierte… aber leider ging es nur,
wenn man ein Konto auf einer der Banken hier hat! : ( Ich beschloss alle Dokument
inkl. Passbeglaubigung der ROP in der kleinen Post mit DHL Kurierservice
aufzugeben, damit zumindest die Frist eingehalten werden konnte (ich hatte mich
telefonisch vorher informiert und es wurde mir bestätigt, dass meine Sendung in
max. 1 Woche in der Schweiz ankommen würde). Im letzten Moment hatte ich die
Idee eine Passbeglaubigung von der Omani Post machen zu lassen und legte sie
dazu. Es dauerte 1 geschlagene Stunde bis alles im Computer eingegeben und
meine Dokumente im DHL Umschlag waren… der arme Angestellte war überfordert und
musste seinen Vorgesetzten um Hilfe holen – Qais erledigte alles souverän und
am Donnerstag (2 x die Woche) würde die Sendung hier auf der entlegenen Masirah
Insel abgeholt werden…
Once I had filled out and signed all the documents for my bank, I headed to Masirah Town. There I first checked out all the banks to have my passport notarized because it wasn't possible at the Swiss consulate in Muscat and my bank didn't accept the one from the immigration police ROP Salalah... but unfortunately it was only possible if you had an account at one of them banks here! : ( I decided to post all documents including the ROP passport authentication in the small post office with DHL courier service so that at least the deadline could be met (I had informed myself in advance by phone and it was confirmed to me that my shipment would be delivered to Switzerland in a maximum of 1 week). At the last moment I had the idea of having my passport notarized by the Omani Post and added it. It took a full hour until everything was put into the computer and my documents were in the DHL envelope... it was a too big challenge for the poor employee and had to get his superior for help - Qais did everything confidently and on Thursday (twice a week) the shipment would be picked up here on the remote Masirah Island...

Erleichtert kaufte ich ein Fähreticket für morgen und
machte mich auf eine Rundfahrt des Nordteiles der Insel Masirah.
Relieved, I bought a ferry ticket for tomorrow and set off on a tour of the northern part of Masirah Island.

Da ich heute der einzige Gast im Masirah Beach Camp
war, entschloss ich mein Abendessen in der Stadt einzunehmen. Die Cafés und
Restaurant öffneten etwas vor dem Sonnenuntergang und ich wählte das Masirah Istanbul
Restaurant, wo ich Riesengarnelen mit Salat und Pommes genoss! : )

Since I was the only guest at Masirah Beach Camp
today, I decided to have my dinner in town. The cafes and restaurants opened a
little before sunset and I chose the Masirah Istanbul Restaurant to enjoy king prawns with salad and
chips! : )
