Ich habe gut und viel geschlafen in der Lana Villa
(https://lanavilla-oman.com) und genoss ein leckeres und
stärendes Frühstück. Mein Auto war vom Wüstenstaub befreit worden gestern nach
meiner Ankunft… ich hatte Lala nach einem Schlauch gefragt um es zu waschen und
als ich zum Fenster hinaus schaute, war sie schon dran – was für ein Service! :
)
I slept well and a lot at Lana Villa (https://lanavilla-oman.com) and enjoyed a delicious and strengthening breakfast. My car had been cleaned of the desert dust yesterday after I arrived... I asked Lala for a hose to wash it and when I looked out the window she had already started - what a service! : )

Am Dienstag war es ziemlich bewölkt und grau und
ich hatte den Drang nach Auslauf. Vor der Tür ist ein langer Strand, den ich
abjoggen ging. Zum Schwimmen waren die Wellen zu wild, so kletterte ich über
den verbotenen Pier zu The Chedi (https://www.ghmhotels.com/en/muscat) und
benutzte deren Pool – mein Verbotenes für heute war getan… ; )
On Tuesday it was quite cloudy and gray and I felt the urge to go or a run. There is a long beach in front of the door, which I went exploring by jogging. The waves were too wild to swim, so I climbed over the forbidden pier to The Chedi (https://www.ghmhotels.com/en/muscat) and used their pool - my forbidden thing for today was done... ; )

Am Mittwoch war das Wetter etwas besser und ich
richtig ausgeruht und bereit für neue Taten! Ich machte eine Tour um Altes in
Muskat wiederzuentdecken: Mein erster Stopp war der Fischmarkt in Muttrah, von
wo man einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die Bucht hat.
On Wednesday the weather was a little better and I was well rested and ready for new adventures! I went on a tour to rediscover old things in Muscat: My first stop was the fish market in Muttrah, from where you have a fantastic view of the bay.

Weiter ging es der Küste entlang auf den
prachtvollen Strassen Muskats mit seinen wunderschönen Kreisel nach Old Muskat,
wo ich einen Spaziergang unternahm und den Sultanspalast Alam bewunderte.
I continued along the coast on the magnificent streets of Muscat with its beautiful roundabouts to Old Muscat, where I took a walk and admired the Sultan's Palace Alam.

The next stops were the Al Bustan Palace Hotel (https://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/hotels/mctrz-al-bustan-palace-a-ritz-carlton-hotel/overview) and the Jumeirah Muscat Bay (https://www.jumeirah.com/en/stay/oman/jumeirah-muscat-bay) – simply breathtaking! Actually, I was looking for the Oman Dive Centre… but I'm not entirely sure if it's a little more northeast or if it's been replaced by a new building like the Jumeirah Muscat Bay…

Auf dem Rückweg kletterte ich das Muttrah Fort
hoch, wo ich nochmals einen grossartigen Blick auf die Bucht von Muttrah
genoss. In Qurm hielt ich beim Opernhaus an, das vor 15 Jahren noch nicht stand – wunderschön modern! : )
On the way back I climbed up the Muttrah Fort, where I once again enjoyed a great view of the Bay of Muttrah. In Qurm I stopped at the opera house, which wasn't there 15 years ago – beautifully modern! : )

Den herrlichen Tag liess ich im The Chedi
ausklingen, das gleich neben der Lana Villa liegt. Oman verabschiedete sich von
mir mit einem Feuerwerk der Natur…

right next to the Lana Villa. Oman said goodbye to me with fireworks by nature...
