Als ich am Donnerstag Morgen erwachte und zum
Fenster rausschaute, regnete es! - Wie schön für die Natur im trockenen
Musandam! Auch ich genoss den Regen in meinem herrlichen Apartment im Al Hama
Hotel Apartments (+968-9204 0665) mit
meinem Morgenprogramm: Meditation, Arabisch mit Duolingo (https://www.duolingo.com), Yoga
mit Kassandra (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX32D3gKXENrhOXdZjWWtMA), Aufholen
der Arbeit an meinem Blog – alles mit viel Kräutertee und Obst… Und nicht zuletzt
mit einem herzöffnenden Videochat mit meiner Tochter Melanie und meinen Enkelinnen
Hanna (3 ½) und Aline (1 ½) per Skype, da Whatsapp Anrufe wie in den Emiraten hier
nicht funktionieren…
When I woke up on Thursday morning and looked out the window, it was raining! - How beautiful for nature in dry Musandam! I also enjoyed the rain in my great apartment at Al Hama Hotel Apartments (+968-9204 0665) with my morning programme: meditation, Arabic with Duolingo (https://www.duolingo.com), yoga with Kassandra (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX32D3gKXENrhOXdZjWWtMA), catching up on work on my blog - all with lots of herbal teas and fruits... And last but notbleast with a heart-opening video chat with my daughter Melanie and my granddaughters Hanna (3 ½) and Aline (1 ½) via Skype, as Whatsapp calls don’t work here like in the Emirates…

Dann waren Erledigungen angesagt wie meine Wäsche,
die ich nebenan erledigen liess – hier wird übrigens alles perfekt gebügelt,
sogar Unterhosen! Der Reissverschluss eines Koffers war defekt und Shabeer fuhr
mich zum Polsterer. Unterwegs beschaffte ich Geld und genoss einen Cappuccino
im Cafe A&A (https://aandacoffeekhasab.wixsite.com/a-and-a-coffee), wo ein
Knabe allen Gästen ein Stück Kuchen anbot! : )
Then it was time to do errands like my laundry, which I had done next door - by the way, everything here is ironed perfectly, even underwear! The zipper on one of my suitcases was broken and Shabeer drove me to the upholsterer. On the way I collected money and enjoyed a cappuccino at Cafe A&A (https://aandacoffeekhasab.wixsite.com/a-and-a-coffee), where a boy offered all the guests a piece of cake! : )

Es regnete immer wieder am Donnerstag wie am Freitag.
Die kurzen Aufhellungen benutze ich nach draussen zu gehen und für eine Joggingrunde
– es war zu windig um schwimmen zu gehen, so rannte ich nicht nur zum Bassa
Strand, sondern auch ins Städtchen, das ziemlich unter Wasser stand…
It rained again and again on Thursday as well as Friday. I used the short periods of sun to go outside and for a run - it was too windy to go swimming, so I not only ran to Bassa Beach, but also to town, which was pretty much under water...

Das Wetter war nicht nur regnerisch, sondern für
Samstag stürmisch angesagt… Eine nette Dame der Mwasalat Fähre (https://www.nfconline.om/NFCLive) rief
mich wie versprochen and und teilte mir mit, dass die Überfahrt nach Shinas am
Samstag abgesagt ist… Ich überlegte mir einen Plan B: Die Fähre für kommenden
Mittwoch reservieren und vielleicht finde ich jemand, der nach Sohar oder Muscat
fährt und Platz für mich und meine 3 Koffer hat?
The weather was not only rainy, but also forecasted stormy for Saturday... A nice lady from the Mwasalat ferry (https://www.nfconline.om/NFCLive) called me as promised and informed me, that the crossing to Shinas on Saturday was cancelled... I thought of a plan B: reserving the ferry for next Wednesday and maybe I can find someone who will drive to Sohar or Muscat and has space for me and my 3 suitcases?

All meine Abendessen hier in Khasab nahm ich im Mazahbi
al Yaman um die Ecke ein – es ist zuuu gut um nicht hinzugehen! : ) Als ich das
erste Mal Garnelen bestellte, hatte ich keine Ahnung, dass ich ein halbes Kilo
davon erhalten würde! Der nette Zello packte mir die Hälfte ein und ich
bereitete am nächsten Tag einen leckeren Salat zu! Am Freitag machte ich nette
Bekanntschaft mit Sandy & Felix aus Dubai und wir genossen nicht nur
leckeres Essen, sondern auch endloser Auszutausch… Als ich bezahlte, fragte ich
Zello, ob er jemand kenne, der in den nächsten Tagen nach Oman fahren würde? Er
schaute mich ratlos an, aber Rashid hörte mich und bot mir an am Samstag auf Sonntag
mit ihm nach Oman zu fahren! : ))

All my dinners here in Khasab I had at Mazahbi al Yaman around the
corner - it's too good not to have it there! : ) When I ordered prawns for the
first time, I had no idea that I would get half a kilo! Kind Zello packed half
of it for me and I made a delicious salad the next day! On Friday I made a nice
acquaintance with Sandy & Felix from Dubai and we enjoyed not only
delicious food, but also endless exchanges... When I paid, I asked Zello if he
knew anyone who was going to Oman in the next few days? He looked at me
perplexed, but Rashid heard me and offered me to drive to Oman with him on
Saturday to Sunday! : ))
