Heute fuhr
ich eine halbe Stunde Richtung Osten um Taqah zu erkunden... Da ich jeweils morgens sehr
beschäftigt bin mit meinem Morgenprogramm (Meditation, Yoga, Arabisch
mit Duolingo und Arbeit an diesem Reiseblog) ist es jeweils Mittag bis ich losfahre...
zudem bin ich ja einen Monat hier und habe Zeit! Trotzdem versuche ich unnötige
Kilometer zu vermeiden… aber auf der anderen Seite ist es
entspannter nicht zu viel auf dem Plan zu haben! Und weil es in Taqah
so schön war und noch vieles mehr zu entdecken gab, fuhr ich am nächsten Tag
gleich nochmals hin! : )
Today I drove half an hour direction east to explore Taqah... Since I'm very busy every morning with my morning programme (meditation, yoga, Arabic with Duolingo and working on this travel blog), it's noon before I leave... besides, I'm here for a month and I have time! Nevertheless, I try to avoid unnecessary kilometres... but on the other hand, it's more relaxing not to have too much on my schedule! And because Taqah was so beautiful and there was so much more to discover, I came back the next day! : )

Als ich am Sonntag in Taqah ankam, fuhr ich zuerst dem wilden
langen Strand entlang - ich glaube hier war ich vor 15 Jahren auch schon auf
dem Weg nach Mirbat? Im Zentrum parkierte ich
meinen Mietwagen beim Schloss und erklomm die steile Treppe hinauf zum Fort.
When I arrived in Taqah on Sunday, I first drove along the long, wild beach - I think I was here 15 years ago on the way to Mirbat? I parked my rental car in the centre at the castle and climbed the steep stairs up to the fort.

Es war seeehr heiss, so dass ich mich nach einem lauschigen Plätzchen sehnte... Wadi Darbat!? Unterwegs dorthin machte ich einen Abstecher auf die Klippen, von wo man eine herrliche Aussicht auf den Strand und das Städtchen Taqah hat! : )
It was very hot, so I longed for a snug place... Wadi Darbat!? On the way there I took a detour to the cliffs, where there is a wonderful view down to the beach and town of Taqah! : )

Wenige
Kilometer nördlich auf einer Anhöhe befindet sich Wadi Darbat, wo sich das
Quellwasser ganzjährig in Wasserfällen ergiessen. Ansonsten ist es
überall sehr trocken - ausser im Khariif, wenn es im Juli und August regnet und Massen von arabischen
Touristen die Umgebung füllen: Für sie ist Regen etwas Aussergewöhnliches…
Wadi
Darbat ist eine willkommene Oase mit vielen kleinen Wasserfällen und Becken, wo
man sogar baden kann. Auch die Kamele, Kühe und Esel haben dieses kleine
Paradies für sich entdeckt und sind überall anzutreffen -
manchmal auch mitten auf der Strasse! Für mich der schönste und erholsamste
Ort bis jetzt, und ich werde sicher nochmals hierher zurückkommen! : )
A few kilometres north on a hill lies Wadi Darbat, where the water flows into waterfalls all year round. Everywhere else it is very dry - except in Khariif, when it rains in July and August and crowds of Arab tourists fill the area: For them, rain is something extraordinary...
Wadi Darbat is a welcome oasis with many small waterfalls and pools where you can have a bath. The camels, cows and donkeys have discovered this little paradise for themselves as well and can be found everywhere - sometimes even in the middle of the road! For me this is the most beautiful and relaxing place so far, and I will definitely come back! : )

Am Montag machte ich vor Taqah einen Abstecher zum Rotana-Hawana Resort. Er
erinnerte mich an El Gouna – und siehe da, meine Recherchen ergaben, dass Samih
Sawiri auch hier seine Hände im Spiel hat. Für mich nicht wirklich interessant,
so ging es weiter in die Dhofar Berge nach Ayn Athum, das zurzeit nicht so mit
Wasser gesegnet ist wie Wadi Darbat…
On Monday, before arriving to Taqah, I made a detour to the Rotana-Hawana Resort. It reminded me of El Gouna - and lo and behold, my research showed that Samih Sawiri had his finger also in this pie. Not really interesting for me, so I continued to the Dhofar mountains to Ayn Athum, which is currently not as blessed with water as Wadi Darbat…

In Taqah machte ich eine Cappuccino Pause im Jumana Café (https://www.facebook.com/jumana.jumana.3954546)
und fuhr dann weiter zu meinem heutigen Höhepunkt: Khor Rori.

Khor Rori liegt an der Mündung des Wadi Darbat und war seit 300 v. Chr. ein
bedeutender Hafen für den Weihrauchhandel. Die heisseste Zeit des Tages war vorbei
und ich liess mich im willkommenen Wind durch die archäologischen Ausgrabungen sowie
das kleine aber feine Museum treiben…
Khor Rori is situated in the mouth of Wadi Darbat and has been an important port for the incense trade since 300 BC. The hottest time of the day was over and I let myself drift in the welcome wind through the archaeological excavations and the small but beautiful museum...

Zum Abschluss ging es nochmals auf die Klippen über Taqah – diesmal zum
Sonnenuntergang. Danach war ich nur noch müde und hungrig… es reichte gerade
noch zum Einkaufen von Obst aus der Gegend und Kamelspiesschen mit Pommes und
Salat zum Abendessen in den Roulettes in Dahariz, Salalah! : )

Thereafter I was
tired and hungry… I had just
enough energy to
buy local fruit and have camel
skewers
with chips and salad for
dinner at the roulettes in Dahariz,
Salalah! : )
