Am Samstag Morgen traf ich Shabeer, der sehr nervös
war: Eine ganze Schar Freunde würde heute aus den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten
anreisen um das Wochenende hier in Khasab zu verbringen… er hatte vieles zu
organisieren und wollte mir das Zelt zeigen, das er für sie aufgestellt hatte.
Zuerst nahm ich ihn aber mit an den Strand um 10 Minuten zu meditieren und ihm
nutzvolle Affirmationen zu zeigen um zurück zu sich selber im Hier und Jetzt zu
gelangen…
Da ich heute Nacht mit Rashid nach Sohar fahren konnte,
war Packen meiner Siebensachen in meine 3 1/2 Koffer angesagt. Ich organisierte
mir ein Mietauto und Hotel in Sohar und schon war der Tag um!
On Saturday morning I met Shabeer, who was very nervous: A whole group of friends would arrive from the United Arab Emirates today to spend the weekend here in Khasab... he had a lot to organize and wanted to show me the tent he had put up for them. But first I took him to the beach to meditate for 10 minutes and show him useful affirmations to get back to ourselves in the here and now...
Since I was able to go to Sohar with Rashid tonight, I had to pack my belongings into my 3 1/2 suitcases. I organized a rental car and hotel in Sohar and the day was over!

Am Abend traf ich mich mit Felix und Sandy im Mazahbi al Yaman zum
Abendessen, sie würden morgen zurück nach Dubai fahren. Ich traf auch Rashid, der unsere
Abfahrzeit um 23 Uhr bestätigte. Und so war es: Um 23 Uhr rief er mich an, dass
er im Al Hama Hotel Apartments (+968-9204 0665) bereit
für die 200 km und 3 Stunden nach Sohar war, er würde
von dort weiter nach Muscat fahren… Nach einer fröhlichen und unbeschwerten
Fahrt von 45 km und Minuten erreichten wir die omanischen Grenze, wo unsere
Pässe abgestempelt wurden. Gegenüber an der Grenze der Vereinigten
Arabischen Emirate dauerte es aber ziemlich lange, bis mir dann ein Zöllner
erklärte, dass mein 3-monatiges Visum in den VAE abgelaufen ist – ich hatte
mich beim Zöllner am Flughafen bei der Einreise erkundigt, der mir sagte, dass
ich unbeschränkt ein- und ausreisen könne… jedenfalls habe ich das so
verstanden. Die Informationen im Internet sind nicht nur zu viele und alle
anders, alles ändert sich auch kontinuierlich! Die einzige Art die Emirate zu
passieren um zum Hauptland Oman zu gelangen war ein Visum zu beantragen, was
einige Zeit benötigt… und ich wollte Rashids Zeit nicht noch länger beanspruchen…
So blieb ihm nichts anderes als mich zurück nach Khasab zum Al Hama zu fahren… Unterwegs
gab er mir einen nützlichen Kontakt für Visumprobleme… : (
In the evening I met Felix and Sandy at Mazahbi al Yaman for dinner; they would be driving back to Dubai tomorrow. I also met Rashid, who confirmed our departure time at 11 pm tonight. And that’s how it was: At 11 pm he called me saying he was at Al Hama Hotel Apartments (+968-9204 0665) ready for the 200 km and 3 hours to Sohar, from where he would continue on to Muscat... After a happy and a carefree journey of 45 km and minutes, we arrived at the Omani border, where our passports were stamped. Opposite at the border of the United Arab Emirates, it took quite a some time until a customs officer explained to me that my 3-months visa in the UAE had expired - I had inquired about it at the airport upon entry, where the customs officer told me that I could travel in and out without restrictions... at least that's how I understood it. Not only is the information in the Internet too much and all different, everything is also constantly changing! Now, the only way to pass through the Emirates to get to the main country of Oman was to apply for a visa, which takes some time... and I didn't want to take up Rashid's time any longer... Consequently he had no choice but to drive me back to Khasab to the Al Hama... On the way he gave me a useful contact for visa problems… : (

Am Sonntag brauchte ich nichts anderes als Ruhe und
viel Schlaf nach einer langen Nacht mit der vergeblichen Fahrt zur Grenze und
zurück… Ich packte meine Koffer nicht mal aus, nur das Nötigste, und machte
mich auf einen langen Spaziergang zum Strand… um meinen Kopf vom Wind zu durchlüften
und in Ruhe einen neuen Plan zu schmieden… Unterwegs hielt ich am Hafen bei der
Mwasalat Fähre (https://www.nfconline.om/NFCLive) um einen
Platz auf der Überfahrt von Khasab nach Shinas für kommenden Mittwoch zu
reservieren. Die netten Ladies würden mir einen Tag vorher telefonieren, ob die
Fahrt stattfinden würde oder nicht.
On Sunday I needed nothing but rest and lots of sleep after a long night driving in vain to the border and back... I didn't even unpack my suitcases, just the essentials, and went for a long walk to the beach... to have the wind clear my head and make a new plan all in peace... On the way I stopped at the port at the Mwasalat ferry (https://www.nfconline.om/NFCLive) to reserve a place on the crossing from Khasab to Shinas for next Wednesday. The nice ladies would call me the day before and tell me whether the trip would take place or not.

Als ich am Montag Brot zum Frühstück einkaufen
wollte, waren die Jungs vom Mazahbi al Yaman ganz perplex mich hier zu sehen.
Sie wollten wissen, was geschehen war und luden mich zum Frühstück ein! : )
When I went to buy bread for breakfast on Monday, the guys from Mazahbi al Yaman were very surprised to see me still here. They wanted to know what had happened and invited me to breakfast! : )

Danach
fuhr mich Shabeer zu Abdullah von Silver Jarz
Travel & Tourism (https://www.silverjarz.com), der
Spezialist für Visa aller Art
ist und dessen Kontakt ich von Rashid erhalten hatte, der inzwischen gut in
Muscat angekommen war. Wir begannen mit meinem Omani Visum,
das ich für 2 Monate verlängern wollte… als Adullah dieses auf alle
Möglichkeiten im System suchte, war es einfach nicht aufzufinden! Mein altes
von der ersten Einreise schon, das würde am 9.2. ablaufen. Wir versuchten die undeutlichen
Zahlen des neuen
Visums in meinem Pass zu entziffern aber fanden einfach nichts! So rief er die Polizei
an der Grenze an, die ihm nicht mal zuhörte und ihn abwimmelte. Nun rief ich an
und erhielt die Antwort auf der Hauptpolizei anzurufen… was ich auch tat und mein
Problem schilderte… Als wir nicht mehr weiterkamen, übernahm Abdullah und hörte
nicht auf dem Beamten seine Spekulation zu erklären, bis dieser das System
checkte und herausfand, dass mein Pass falsch gelesen wurde: ein
S statt ein 5 – deshalb war ich ganz anders registriert… und da waren sogar
weitere Fehler im Familiennamen sowie Nationalität (Chile)!!! Zum Glück hatte
ich den Stempel als Beweis in meinem Pass! - Die ganze Prozedur dauerte über 2 Stunden
und ich musste zur Hauptpolizeistation in Khasab gehen, die aber nur von 8 bis 14
Uhr offen ist… und ziemlich weit entfernt vom Zentrum Khasab, so dass ich für
Dienstag ein Auto mietete – gleich bei Abdullah, der bot mir eines zum Superpreis
von 10 OMR (= 23 EUR) an! Was das VAE-Visum betrifft, hoffe ich per Fähre
weiterreisen zu können und es später bei Abdullah machen zu lassen, der nun all
meine Daten und Kopien meiner Dokumente hat!

Thereafter Shabeer drove me to Abdullah from Silver Jarz Travel &
Tourism (https://www.silverjarz.com), who is
a specialist in all types of visas and whose contact I had received from
Rashid, who in the meantime had arrived safely in Muscat. We started with my
Omani visa, which I wanted to extend for 2 months... when Adullah searched for
it in every way in the system, it simply couldn't be found! My old one from the
first entry would be expired on February 9th. We tried to decipher
the unclear numbers of the new visa in my passport but couldn't find anything!
So he called the police at the border, who didn't even listen to him and
brushed him off. Now I called and was told to call the main police station...
which I did and where I explained my problem... When we got stuck, Abdullah
took over and didn't stop explaining his speculation to the officer until he
checked the system and found out that mine passport was read incorrectly: an S
instead of a 5 - that's why I was registered completely differently... and
there were even more errors in the family name and nationality (Chile)!!!
Luckily enough I had the stamp in my passport as a proof! - The whole procedure
took over 2 hours and I had to go to the main police station in Khasab, which
is only open from 8 am. to 2 pm.... and quite far from the centre of Khasab, consequently
I rented a car for Tuesday - from Abdullah, who offered me one for the super
price of 10 OMR (= 23 EUR)! As for the UAE visa, I hope to continue traveling
by ferry and will have to do it later with Abdullah, who now has all my details
and copies of my documents!
